Roseland Hospital Adds 3D Mammography Van to Community Cancer Screening Offerings

In December, Roseland Hospital celebrated the addition of a 3D mammography van to their oncology services. This mobile mammography unit, generously funded by Washington Square Health Foundation, allows for mammograms to be conducted outside of traditional hospital settings. Its primary purpose is to provide convenient access to breast cancer screening for women in underserved or remote areas—such as Chicago’s South and West sides—as well as for individuals who face difficulties in reaching healthcare facilities.

Breast cancer is the number one cause of death among Black women. By bringing the screening services directly to patients, Roseland is helping to change that statistic and win the war against breast cancer.
